About the Speaker

Katie Asmus is a Body-centered Nature-based psychotherapist, life coach, trainer of healers, and Rites of Passage Guide. She is the founder and director of The Somatic Wilderness Therapy Institute, formerly Namaste Healing Arts Center, in Boulder, Colorado. Katie is passionate about connecting people to their own inner wisdom and to the abundance of support that exists in the human and more-than-human world around us. Through supporting deep listening to the body-mind connection, as well as guiding people to spend reflective time in nature, Katie supports the process of coming into greater alignment with our inner-rhythms and deep inherent health.
Katie began her work in the outdoors in 1990 when she first started leading outdoor adventure backpacking, canoeing, and rock-climbing programs for youth and adults. After several years working in this arena, Katie did her graduate studies in Somatic Psychology at Naropa University. Upon graduation, she was hired as the assistant director for the MA Wilderness Therapy program at Naropa, where she has been teaching for the past 17 years. Additionally, she teaches graduate students in Adventure Therapy and Ecopsychology at Prescott College and has developed a variety of trainings for helping professionals in therapeutic Somatic and Nature-based techniques, as well as in Rites of Passage, Ceremony and Ritual. Finally, Katie works with individual clients as well as facilitates a variety of weekend-long to year-long nature-based Rites of Passage group programs for women to support them in living in greater alignment with their inner values and truth.

Jen Broyles is a Certified Holistic Health Coach, SOMA breathwork instructor, and essential oils educator who empowers busy individuals to reclaim their health with simple, practical solutions that are natural and safe. Jen has a special interest in the mind-body connection, gut health, and using natural tools to support healing and restoration. She uses nutrition, stress-reduction techniques, essential oils, and natural therapies to help clients create a lifestyle of optimal wellness. Her personal story is what inspired her to educate and guide others. She dealt with chronic digestive issues, anxiety, and hormone imbalances for years, and it was significantly affecting her quality of life. She left her career in pharmaceutical sales and returned to school to study nutrition and train with functional medicine practitioners. She is a firm believer in the roles that nourishing food, a balanced lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing play on overall health.
